Habitat
Warm saltwater and brackish estuaries, mangroves, bridges, inlets, and tidal passes. Florida and Texas Gulf Coast primarily.
Best Season
Late spring through early fall. Spawning aggregations at inlets in June-July.
Best Times
Dusk and night around dock lights and structure. Incoming tides at passes and inlets.

Distinct lateral line running head to tail as a bold black stripe. Protruding lower jaw, concave forehead. Yellow pectoral fins. Completely unmistakable.
Excellent — firm, white, mild flesh. One of the most prized eating fish in Florida. Must be legal size — strictly regulated with seasons.

Snook always face into the current waiting for prey. Cast your bait upcurrent so it drifts naturally past their position. They will not chase bait against the current.
