Fishing in Rhode Island

Rhode Island packs outstanding saltwater into a tiny footprint. Striped bass, bluefish, false albacore, fluke, scup and tautog fill Narragansett Bay, Block Island and the beaches, and the fall albie run is a fly-rod spectacle. Freshwater ponds add stocked trout and largemouth for a change of pace. Saltwater anglers use the state registry, and while the calendar leans coastal, the Ocean State fishes hard from spring through fall.
