🎣 Texas Rig

The most versatile bass fishing presentation — completely weedless, fishes anywhere

Best For

Bass fishing in heavy cover — weeds, brush piles, docks, laydowns. The go-to rig when nothing else works.

How to Do It

  1. 1

Thread a bullet-shaped sinker onto your line, point facing the hook

  2. 2

Tie on an offset worm hook (size 3/0-5/0 depending on worm size)

  3. 3

Push the hook point through the top of the worm about 1/4 inch and pull it out the side

  4. 4

Slide the worm up to the hook eye so it sits straight on the shank

  5. 5

Rotate the hook 180 degrees and push the point back into the worm body — do not push it through

  6. 6

The worm should hang straight with the hook buried just below the skin — fully weedless

  7. 7

Cast to cover, let it sink on semi-slack line, and watch for the line to jump or go sideways

🎣 Pro Tip

Use the lightest weight that still reaches the bottom. Lighter weights give the worm more natural action and more time in the strike zone.
