🪢 Palomar Knot

The strongest all-around knot for braided or monofilament line to hooks and lures

Step-by-Step

  1. 1

Double 6 inches of line and pass the loop through the hook eye

  2. 2

Tie a loose overhand knot with the doubled line, keeping the hook hanging below

  3. 3

Pass the hook through the loop at the end of the doubled line

  4. 4

Wet the knot and pull both the main line and tag end to tighten

💡 Make sure the knot seats above the hook eye, not below

  5. 5

    Trim the tag end close

🎣 Pro Tip

Palomar retains nearly 100% of line strength. Use this for braided line always.
